Kiteboard sizing.
Kiteboard size is enormously important , everything comes down to the riders weight and size , a rider has the weight and strength to manipulate a certain size kiteboard. The kiteboard is too big and the rider is going to struggle to rail and turn the board hard in the turns , tired legs are going to be an issue. A kiteboard too small and your going to have to work the kite like crazy just to keep going. With 4000 twintips built over the last 23 years Nomad's experience guides the client through the correct kiteboard size by the mm , width is calculated individually to the riders weight and a length-width ratio is formed.
The most important kiteboard flex.
Kiteboard flex controls the shape and general dynamics of the board and provides the super smooth ride associated with Nomad twintips. A twintip with flex will bend under riding forces , the rider pushing down and the water pushing up. Whether you are a heavy rider or lightweight rider the Nomad flex is designed so the board bends always into the same rocker profile. That rocker shape is pre-tested over many years of riding. Basically a twintip for a heavy rider is stiffer than a twintip built for a lightweight rider. This stiffness-flex is built into each Nomad twintip by varying the core thickness and the carbon layup.
Too improve the flex system Nomad uses Carbon fiber to accurately and speedily control the board flexing. Carbon fiber is about 10 times faster to return to its dynamic shape than standard fiber glass. This allows a Nomad board to spend more of its time at the correct flexed rocker profile, the result is an extremely smooth and efficient under-shape.
